Asteroids are chunks of rock, metal, or ice flying through space. Large asteroids are particularly useful in combat, as enemy guided missiles will often lock onto an asteroid instead of their target ship.

Asteroid Mining Edit

After breaking apart an asteroid, some pieces may contain valuable resources. The most common materials found in asteroids are water, metal, and opals. Governments and free traders alike have found asteroid mining to be a very profitable enterprise - so profitable that an asteroid mining starship has been designed specifically for breaking asteroids apart and harvesting the remains.
