The Fusion Pulse Cannon is a rather crude yet powerful weapon. It is rather poorly designed by Federation standards, with bulky dimensions and very inefficient containment fields, but it is still a formidable weapon.

Because of the FPC's effectiveness, it can be found on nearly all Auroran warships and freighters, as well as many Pirate craft and even Auroran Outfits Detected Federation warships. It is available without a Heavy Weapons License at any good outfitter.

NotesEdit

If you have any gameplay tips, hints, or background information relevant to this topic, please post them here.

This weapon has excellent range (three times farther than the Light Blaster, for example) and does a decent amount of damage for the space it occupies.

Keep in mind that FPC packets decay, so the further they travel to the target, the less damage they do. But don't get too close if you're picky about how much damage you take, for you may be caught in the blast radius at close range.

The range of the FPC can be used to comfortably kite most enemies (including enemies using FPC's themselves). Kiting is best done in a fast ship - a Modified Starbridge is capable of taking down virtually any ship in the game without taking damage using just FPC's.

To properly kite with FPC's, get your target mad and targeting you, then travel away from them until they are just off screen or nearly off screen - slow so that your enemy and yourself are traveling at the same speed. Properly executed, you will be able to attack your target with FPC's while they chase you unable to return fire.

If your enemy has fast moving missile weapons, you will need to evade these weapons until your target runs out of ammo to properly execute this strategy.

Kiting with FPC's will require you to carefully dodge rail gun shots as these weapons will be able to hit you even while kiting.
