Mantas require food and water, as well as sunlight. This bay provides for up to six of them with all of that, plus the required power taps for recharging all their BioRelay lasers. Mantas are excellent fighters, and they are magnificent for disabling ships, as they imediately stop attacking as soon as the target is disabled.
