New Ireland is a planet of lush, rolling green vistas in the Tuatha system at the southern edge of the Federation. It was settled during the early years of colonization by troubled youth from a war-torn province on Earth who decided to make a new home for themselves. While the planet is home to a cultured, peaceful, and friendly people, much of the world's economy is actually dependent on the renowned Wild Geese mercenary group, led by the legendary Eamon Flannigan. Despite New Ireland's pastoral appearance, it has a cutting-edge spaceport with a full-service outfitter. Notably, the Modified Starbridge can be purchased at the New Ireland shipyard.
Port services
New Ireland offers everything a spacer could dream of, a cheap export, a lucrative import, a few relatively rare outfits, and several ships of excellent and unique design.
Shipyard
New Ireland offers an excellent variety of civilian ships with two variants not being offered anywhere else: the much-coveted Modified Starbridge and the significantly improved Wild Geese Lightning.
Outfitter
New Ireland also offers a good selection of outfits, some of which are hard to find. The Light Cannon and Vectored Thrust upgrade are two such examples.
Trade Center
A trade surplus has temporarily lowered the price of luxury goods, making this commodity a profitable export for traders. Several distilleries make New Ireland the home of the famous Guinness beer, which is available in barrels for export. Food is also cheap, while metal and equipment are averagely priced. The only goods in heavy demand are medical supplies, which fetch an excellent price.

In one branch of the Wild Geese string, the planet is bombarded to rubble by a Bureau task force. If the player has completed the Nirvana string, the player may encounter a representative of that company, which will eventually return New Ireland almost to its original state.
New Ireland is one end of an excellent trade route: buy luxury goods there, sell at Earth, buy medical supplies at Earth, sell at New Ireland, repeat as needed.
