The Polaris have mastered the art of non-corporeal engineering, and the Polaron Torpedo is a prime example. A mass of polaron particles--the essence of the Wraithii used by their smaller ships--is woven around a guiding core, producing a massive blast that will vaporize most fighters and do significant damage to anything bigger than that. The simple Polaron Torpedo Launcher comes standard on the Arachnid and Scarab

Polaron Multi-Torpedo Edit

The Multi-Torpedo is the pinnacle of non-corporeal engineering. It is basically a salvo of five polaron torpedos and should be used very selectively since it is overkill to use it on anything but large warships, and because it can destroy a Pirate Carrier in two hits. It is far and away the most powerful ammo-using weapon in the game, and deals 1000 points of damage to shields and armor.

NotesEdit

If you have any gameplay tips, hints, or background information relevant to this topic, please post them here.

Both versions of the Polaron Torpedo have a "Fire While Cloaked" version, however that version has a lower capicity than without, and they cost slightly more. Polaron torpedos are the most valuable homing weapon in the game. They do massive amounts of damage, use no mass, are near impossible to shake, and will pursue you far, far longer than any missile normally would. The only downside? The low ammo cap. You are only allowed 60 of the normal Polaron torpedos, and almost half that of the Multi-Torp salvoes. This means that you either have to choose your targets wisely, or be close to a polaris outfitter that sells them.

The Multi-Torpedo is the very definition of overkill. They fire 1 Polaron Torpedo which splits to become 5 Polaron Torpedoes after a short delay. They are best against Vell-os ships, since they can destroy an Arrow in one hit, but can take down almost any single craft in one or two salvos. Just don't waste your ammo.
